World of Warcraft: Forever Arrives on PC With Built-In Controller Support

World of Warcraft: Forever launches for PC on November 4, bringing players back to classic Azeroth alongside new content and an integrated Gamepad (Alpha) mode.

Blizzard is preparing to launch World of Warcraft: Forever for PC players on November 4. The release revisits the classic landscape of Azeroth primarily centered on Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, while weaving in original additions rather than replicating the 2004 experience entirely. Access will be included under existing active subscriptions without requiring an extra purchase.

The project introduces brand-new content to explore alongside classic nostalgia. Additions include the Skyborne, a fresh elven race based on the newly revealed floating Zephras Isle, along with uncharted areas across the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal. Visually, the title benefits from updated graphics and lighting, while expanding character options to permit previously unavailable class combinations like Forsaken Paladins.

A primary feature arriving with the release is built-in Gamepad (Alpha) functionality. Players can activate the setting directly within the main options menu to transform user interface icons to match controller inputs, mapping actions to bumper and trigger combinations alongside face buttons. The setup also integrates a dedicated ping system operated through the right analog stick to help navigate group encounters without relying purely on a keyboard.

Announced release date: 4 Nov 2026
