Developer S-Game has issued a warning to PC gamers jumping into Phantom Blade Zero, cautioning against running the latest Nvidia graphics drivers. Despite pre-launch guidance pointing players toward newer software, the studio now explicitly advises against updating to Nvidia driver version 621.01, which released with targeted support for the game.
According to an announcement shared by the studio, internal testing revealed that Nvidia driver version 617.42 currently delivers the most stable and optimal experience. The developer suggests that anyone who has already upgraded past 617.42 perform a clean rollback to that specific build while waiting for Nvidia to release a follow-up software update.
Alongside the driver notice, S-Game encouraged users to install the title's 5 GB day-one patch and reassured players that the action RPG is worth trying on lower-end systems, mid-range hardware, and handheld PCs. While the team did not outline the exact issues caused by driver 621.01, they anticipate a corrective driver from Nvidia in the near future.
