Roger Craig Smith Announced as New English Voice for Phantom Blade Zero Protagonist

Developer S-Game has announced a change in the English voice cast for its upcoming action title Phantom Blade Zero. Veteran voice actor Roger Craig Smith, recognized for his performances across major gaming franchises, has been cast as the protagonist Soul. Smith replaces Jay Maksenuk, whose voice work was featured in earlier trailers and preview gameplay builds.

Players will hear Smith's portrayal in the game's launch trailer as well as the full launch version of the title. While previous promotional material still features Maksenuk, the English voice track for Soul has been updated ahead of the game's general release. S-Game has not publicly shared the underlying reasons behind the casting change.

The recast means anyone playing Phantom Blade Zero with English audio at launch will experience Smith's performance exclusively throughout the adventure. S-Game previously alerted reviewers that an update to the main character's English dialogue was planned prior to the game's public debut.
