Valve has intervened on Dead by Daylight's Steam store page by tagging an influx of recent negative user submissions as off-topic activity. The influx of critical scores followed developer Behaviour Interactive's collaboration with streamer TheBurntPeanut. As a consequence of Valve's review-bombing policy, user assessments posted between November 1 and November 6 are omitted from the default calculation, lifting the game's recent rating status back up to Mostly Positive.

A notice posted on the Steam store page explains that the designated time frame featured an unusual volume of feedback deemed largely disconnected from an average customer's potential enjoyment of the title. While the default view hides these flagged submissions to preserve the higher score, players can manually adjust their Steam settings to include them, which shifts the recent rating indicator back to Mixed.

The controversy erupted after community members voiced frustration over the developer's external promotional decisions, prompting multiple apologies and studio statements. Behaviour Interactive addressed the backlash by revoking gifted in-game items from the streamer's account and pledged internal steps to address how the collaboration occurred. Despite the platform's intervention on review scores, dissatisfied players continue to voice concerns across community channels.
