Behaviour Interactive has issued an official apology and revoked all unlocked content granted to controversial streamer TheBurntPeanut in Dead by Daylight. The controversy began after a community team member unilaterally gifted the creator every character and item in the game during a live stream, prompting widespread criticism from the player community over perceived favoritism and inadequate background screening.

In Dead by Daylight, users typically must earn or purchase characters and cosmetics individually. Long-time creators and fans expressed frustration that a first-time player was given everything for free without undergoing standard vetting, particularly given past controversies surrounding the streamer's commentary. The situation worsened when an official representative dismissed player backlash in chat with a message stating they could handle the heat and insisting the gifts were permanent.

In an updated statement posted to its primary channels, Behaviour Interactive acknowledged that the decision violated normal protocol and bypassed internal discussions regarding brand values and inclusion. The studio confirmed that the gifted content has been stripped from the streamer's account, new approval procedures are being implemented to restrict rogue creator gifts, and internal measures are being taken regarding the staff member responsible.
