Behaviour Interactive has addressed the planned removal of Chucky from the Dead by Daylight storefront, following recent player concern over departing crossover characters. The developer noted that while its aim is to maintain licensed horror properties indefinitely, retaining every deal permanently is not always feasible. Despite those challenges, the studio emphasized that previous collaborations always maintain an open invitation to return in the future.
Players have until November 24, 2026, to purchase the Chucky Chapter before it leaves storefronts. Existing owners will not lose access to the character, his perks, or any unlocked cosmetic items, allowing current owners to continue using the killer in matches after the cutoff date. The character follows other previous licensed departures, such as Pinhead and Michael Myers, though past content like Stranger Things has managed to return after expiration periods.
The asymmetrical multiplayer title continues to cycle its licensed cast as contracts change. Even as older licenses depart, Behaviour Interactive maintains ongoing roster additions, having introduced Jason from Friday the 13th in June and preparing for Art the Clown from Terrifier to join the game next month.
