Squadron 42 Showcases Fresh Trailer, Steam Listing, and Celebrity Cast

Cloud Imperium Games has provided an updated look at Squadron 42, the standalone single-player campaign set in the Star Citizen universe. The studio introduced a fresh cinematic preview displaying extensive gameplay elements, initiated wishlists on Steam, and confirmed the full roster of actors contributing to the project.

The preview highlights a hybrid experience that blends space dogfighting with first-person boots-on-the-ground action. Players can expect platforming challenges, environmental puzzles, vessel modifications, hacking mechanics, and branching conversational choices. Developers emphasized that performances captured from the high-profile cast are directly integrated into active gameplay sequences rather than limited exclusively to non-interactive cutscenes.

Set in the year 2945 within the United Empire of Earth Navy, the campaign casts players as a military recruit serving aboard a massive capital vessel. Ian Duncan and Alix Wilton Regan portray the selectable male and female protagonists, supported by an ensemble including Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson, and Henry Cavill. Cloud Imperium Games previously outlined a planned arrival window of Q2 2027 following earlier schedule revisions.
