The development team behind the PC Early Access sandbox multiplayer shooter Wardogs will be stepping away for the entirety of December. Following the title's debut, the studio engaged in a demanding schedule of balance patches, hotfixes, and content updates, alongside dealing with backlash over an attempt to region lock users to counter cheating.
Bulkhead leadership highlighted the intense workload endured by the staff to keep pace with the game's momentum, noting that employees frequently took on responsibilities outside their standard roles. Following a rocky launch for Season 2, studio head Joe Brammer decided a month-long detox was necessary before resuming the push toward a full version 1.0 release.
The break aligns with the massive wave of industry attention surrounding major end-of-year releases. Rather than competing against high-profile juggernauts dominating media coverage and player time throughout late autumn, Bulkhead aims to return fully refreshed in the new year to continue refining its multiplayer shooter.
