Rockstar Games has shared new insights regarding the immense scope of GTA 6. According to the studio, the upcoming open-world title features an overall map roughly double the dimensions of Grand Theft Auto 5 and triple that of Red Dead Redemption 2. When measuring pure landmass, the developer revealed that the game nearly equals the playable spaces of Grand Theft Auto 4, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2 put together.

Alongside vast geographical scale, the team emphasized that the environment will not sacrifice density. Co-studio head Aaron Garbut noted that GTA 6 incorporates an order of magnitude more interior spaces than any prior title from the developer. Garbut explained that every alleyway and district has received detailed attention, to the extent that even long-time developers on the project have yet to explore every corner.

Addressing the immense pressure surrounding the highly anticipated release, Garbut stated that the studio refused to compromise on interactivity, scale, or narrative depth. GTA 6 is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, bringing with it a massive expected file size to accommodate the expanded world.
