Grinding Gear Games is concluding the early access period for Path of Exile 2 with its version 1.0 launch scheduled for December 11. The full release finishes the campaign by adding Acts five and six, concluding the journey following the Beast back toward Oriath. Alongside narrative additions, the launch introduces two fresh character classes: the stealth- and trap-focused Shadow, wielding daggers, and the sword-specialized Duelist, who can utilize dynamic stances across varied weapon setups.
The launch concurrently rolls out the Conquerors of Wraeclast league, a system incorporating base-building and military recruitment. Across more than 70 campaign points of interest, players can amass units and enlist commanders to automate map runs in exchange for gold. This faction-driven mechanic extends into the endgame, letting participants align with the Karui, Ezomyte, or Marraketh factions to contest castles across the Atlas for fast-travel benefits, increased item rarity, and specialized crafting currencies.
Significant revisions are also arriving for progression and character builds. The Atlas passive tree has undergone a drastic slimming, shrinking from upwards of 300 nodes to around 70. Further modifications include consolidated elemental support gems, refined jewel placements embedded directly into passive tree clusters, more than 25 new endgame maps featuring campaign bosses, and an expanded item roster containing over 40 new uniques alongside major overhauls to dozens of existing items.
Announced release date: 11 Dec 2026
