CD Projekt Red has shared fresh details regarding its upcoming live-action project set in the Cyberpunk universe. Following the expiration of an earlier contract with Anonymous Content, the studio has shifted course and partnered with Paramount Pictures to pursue a revamped approach for the production.

According to joint CEO Michał Nowakowski, the upcoming movie is not intended to serve as a direct translation of Cyberpunk 2077. Instead of retelling the specific journey of V or Johnny Silverhand, the creators aim to craft an original narrative embedded inside the broader Cyberpunk setting.

The production remains in its early stages, with no theatrical premiere date established yet. Meanwhile, the franchise continues to expand its screen presence, with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 scheduled to arrive on Netflix on October 20.
