Fresh details about the scale and density of Grand Theft Auto 6 have surfaced via an interview with Edge magazine. According to the coverage, the state of Leonida, which includes Vice City and its outer wilderness, approaches the combined landmass of Grand Theft Auto 4, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Addressing common concerns regarding empty open-world spaces, Rockstar emphasized that the vast environment will maintain deep density. Co-studio head Aaron Garbut shared that the forthcoming title features an order of magnitude more interior spaces than earlier studio projects, alongside meticulously detailed side streets and back alleys across random locations.
The environmental design was partly influenced by feedback on the sparse northern regions in Grand Theft Auto 5, prompting a stronger focus on making outer regions engaging. Despite console release plans, Rockstar has yet to officially confirm release timing for a PC version of the game.
