Classic kaiju combat is making a comeback as Atari and original studio Pipeworks retool Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee for the Switch 2. The remastered edition updates the beloved 2002 GameCube title using Unreal Engine 5, modernizing its presentations while preserving the classic arena fighting format.
The revived 3D arena brawler allows players to select from a roster of 12 distinct giant monsters, including iconic figures alongside creatures like Orga, to clash across destructible cities worldwide. In addition to refreshed visuals, this updated release introduces online multiplayer capabilities alongside varied quality-of-life adjustments.
Designed for broad accessibility, the title focuses on straightforward city-trampling action suited for both series enthusiasts and newcomers. The release adds to a busy period for the franchise, complementing upcoming cinematic entries from both Toho and the western MonsterVerse.
