CD Projekt has revealed a surprise Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 featuring dual-wielding, cyberware customization, and Edgerunners 2 tie-in content.

CD Projekt has revealed an unexpected content patch for Cyberpunk 2077. Titled the Edgerunners 2 Update (Patch 2.5), the free release is scheduled to arrive on October 22, 2026, coinciding with the debut of the Edgerunners 2 anime series. A dedicated REDstreams broadcast on October 21 will showcase full details alongside the official patch notes.
The upcoming patch introduces fresh gameplay mechanics alongside crossover content. Developers confirmed that players can expect cyberware customization, brand-new items, and a dual-wielding combat style, expanding character build options for runs through Night City.
Update 2.5 is scheduled to deploy across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S on October 22, with a Nintendo Switch 2 edition slated to arrive shortly afterward. While the studio previously indicated it had halted major expansion development for the title, this update delivers an extra round of free features ahead of the franchise's eventual sequel.
