Cyberpunk 2077 has experienced a major resurgence in concurrent players on PC, reaching a peak of 187,215 active users on Steam. This marks the title's highest concurrent count on the storefront since October 2023, following the rollout of Update 2.0 alongside the Phantom Liberty expansion.
The renewed momentum is largely driven by a double release: the premiere of the second season of the Edgerunners anime series alongside a substantial new game patch. The recent update introduces new gameplay features and options, including weapon dual-wielding, customizable cyberware fashion, expanded cosmetic items, and a story quest directly tied to the anime spin-off.
A 70 percent price cut for the Ultimate Edition on Steam has further lowered the barrier to entry, echoing the player spike seen when the first season launched in September 2022. While players return to Night City, development is simultaneously continuing on the upcoming sequel, internally referred to as Cyberpunk 2.
