Bit Reactor Begins Reinstating Staff Following Star Wars Zero Company Furloughs

Star Wars Zero Company creator Bit Reactor is bringing back furloughed personnel, with payroll reportedly recovering past half its previous capacity.

Game development studio Bit Reactor has started reversing widespread furloughs that impacted the majority of its team around the launch of Star Wars Zero Company earlier this year. Company leadership previously placed over 80 percent of its workforce on unpaid status due to worries surrounding the project's sales outlook.

Studio head Greg Foertsch stated that the earlier furloughs stemmed from unanticipated commercial events beyond their power, describing the temporary layoffs as essential for facilitating future staff reinstatements. Fresh reports indicate that payroll numbers have already recovered to exceed half of what they were prior to the cuts.

The initial lack of active staff severely limited post-release support efforts, even though the team managed to deploy an early update fixing major bugs. With the strategy title reaching strong positions on Steam's top-selling charts, the rehiring efforts offer hope for more stable continuing development.
