Bulkhead leadership has acknowledged that the launch of Wardogs Season 2 missed the mark after an experimental progression incentive disrupted game balance. In an effort to address imbalances on the Lonestar map, the team added an extra 5 percent cash and 2.5 percent experience bonus for choosing Blue Team. However, higher-tier players quickly capitalized on these perks to rapidly unlock powerful loadouts and dominate opposing squads.
Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer stated that the team erred with the implementation, confirming that the short-lived experiment has already been rolled back via a hotfix. While critics accused the studio of ignoring foundational map issues, Brammer noted that spawn layouts for Bakurani had already been rebalanced prior to the ill-fated bonus experiment.
Wardogs remains in an early access development phase as the team prepares the game for a full 1.0 rollout, which is slated to arrive on consoles alongside PC. Beyond the progression changes, Season 2 introduced dynamic rain weather mechanics, muffling audio cues like footsteps and lowering visibility for aircraft pilots.
