RGG Studio is leaving previous-generation hardware behind for Stranger Than Heaven, building the project exclusively for modern systems. Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto revealed that moving away from legacy consoles such as the PlayStation 4 allowed the development team to pursue higher visual fidelity and a distinct artistic direction without compromising on technical limits.
According to the developer, past cross-generation projects forced compromises regarding how many models could appear on screen at a single time. By concentrating technical resources on contemporary hardware, the studio was able to significantly expand crowd density and render noticeably higher quality character assets across its historical setting.
The title is scheduled to arrive on current platforms early next year, featuring modern console capabilities alongside newly confirmed options like in-game cheats. The shift marks a definitive change for RGG Studio, which previously continued support for older systems across its recent releases.
