Sony Postpones PlayStation Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers Shortly Before Debut

Sony has placed an indefinite delay on the upcoming Pulse Elevate wireless speakers following the discovery of a production issue.

Sony has postponed the worldwide rollout of its PlayStation Pulse Elevate wireless speakers mere days before they were scheduled to hit store shelves. The schedule adjustment was detailed in an official blog post update, which confirmed that an unforeseen manufacturing flaw halted the launch plans, leaving the hardware without a revised arrival window.

The company explained that internal quality evaluations uncovered the defect, prompting leadership to withhold shipments until the device meets internal standards. The decision arrived less than a week prior to the planned November 12 debut, with Sony choosing to pause distribution rather than ship compromised units to consumers.

Originally revealed as a $219.99 accessory, the Pulse Elevate speakers are designed to connect with PlayStation 5 consoles, PC, Mac, and PlayStation Portal systems. Featuring built-in planar magnetic drivers, integrated microphones, and noise-filtering capabilities, the hardware was set to expand Sony's dedicated gaming audio portfolio until this manufacturing halt occurred.
