Assassin's Creed Valhalla Adds New Game Plus and PS5 Pro PSSR Upgrades

Ubisoft has released a free patch titled The Most Requested Update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. The patch delivers long-awaited community additions, prominently featuring a New Game Plus mode alongside two additional trophies, an Enhanced Progression Mode choice, updated Power score calculations, and an Animus Hub synchronization feature. Players can also unlock a Master Assassin Naoe outfit as part of the new additions.

On the technical side, PlayStation 5 Pro users receive dedicated enhancements through an upgraded implementation of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). According to Engineering Studio Manager Priscilla Nguyen, integrating this updated version of PSSR allows the game to upscale visuals more efficiently and reliably than the existing Temporal Upscaler, delivering crisper and more stable 4K presentation targeting 60 frames per second.

The studio noted that the integration modernized the open-world title without requiring an overhaul of its core art assets. By applying the upgraded upscaling solution to the rendering pipeline, the team aimed to balance sharper image fidelity and steady performance on the enhanced hardware.
