Housemarque has released the free Zenith update for its sci-fi shooter Saros, bringing both new challenges and granular accessibility options. The centerpiece of the patch is Overlord Rush, a boss rush mode accessible through the Primary robot in the hub zone. Instead of demanding a single continuous run through every encounter, the mode splits encounters into distinct sets containing three boss battles each, complete with dedicated leaderboards.

The update also introduces multiple difficulty tools that allow players to fine-tune combat pacing. A slow-speed toggle permits users to dial down the overall gameplay speed, giving extra reaction time against bullet patterns, with options to trigger the slowdown automatically upon entering combat. Players can also turn on an auto-fire mechanic that fires weapons automatically whenever aiming, streamlining input while dodging attacks.

For those seeking deeper customization or steeper hurdles, the patch expands Carcosan Modifiers with new Protection options, such as Corruption Melee Enhancement, which boosts melee damage in exchange for taking on Corruption. High-level players can also engage with fresh Trial Modifiers alongside ultra-hard endgame Eclipse Layers designed to push execution to its limits.
