Nintendo eShop Adds New Accessibility Tags via Accessible Games Initiative

Nintendo has integrated new accessibility tags into the eShop after joining the Accessible Games Initiative, improving game discovery for players.

Nintendo has officially joined the Accessible Games Initiative, introducing a range of new accessibility tags to the Nintendo eShop digital storefront. This integration is designed to help players identify games that fit their specific physical or sensory needs before making a purchase.

The updated system features descriptors such as Full Input Remapping, Narrated Menus, and Playable with Buttons Only. By cataloging games under these dedicated filters, the platform clarifies which titles provide specific gameplay accommodations.

Customers can utilize these options by navigating to the eShop Tags page. Choosing an accessibility label will automatically filter the storefront and list all available software that incorporates the selected functional feature.
