Nintendo Declares Pikmin Day, Dates Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Demo and Updates
Nintendo officially establishes Pikmin Day, details the upcoming Pikmin 4 Switch 2 edition demo, and reveals new features coming to Pikmin Bloom.

Nintendo has officially designated November 1 as Pikmin Day, marking the occasion with a series of announcements led by series creator Shigeru Miyamoto. During the presentation, Nintendo spotlighted the upcoming release of Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy, which is scheduled to launch on November 12. Ahead of that debut, a complimentary demo featuring one base stage alongside two Dandori Academy challenges will go live on November 2.
The upgraded Switch 2 edition introduces visual enhancements alongside hardware-specific capabilities, such as using the platform's microphone to direct Oatchi with vocal commands like 'Rush' and 'Go to work.' Meanwhile, the integrated Dandori Academy mode introduces competitive time trials, allowing players to practice throughout the week before submitting a single scored run on weekends between Friday and Sunday.
Mobile players also received news regarding Pikmin Bloom, which will receive an update later this year introducing secret caves. In this upcoming content, users can discover maps—including some earned through Pikmin 4—to dispatch their squads into combat and recover treasure. Nintendo additionally showcased a new animated short and noted that future short films will be accessible via the Nintendo Today application.
