Capcom has revealed that the Prologue Demo for Monster Hunter Wilds will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 19, 2026. This upcoming trial lets players explore the early portion of the adventure and includes support for local multiplayer functionality. However, online connectivity is completely excluded from the demo build and will be reserved for the complete release.
The content of this trial largely mirrors the earlier introductory demos released across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC platforms. Participants can create save data that transfers directly into the full release if purchased later. Certain amenities like Photo Mode are not accessible in this trial edition, keeping the focus strictly on the opening segments.
Pre-orders for the Switch 2 edition will open on the digital eShop concurrently with the demo release on October 19. The full game is scheduled to launch on the platform on December 4, 2026, joining the already available PC and console versions, while the major Ascendance expansion remains slated for 2027 across all supported systems.
Announced release date: 4 Dec 2026
