One More Level, the development studio best known for creating Ghostrunner, is preparing to launch its latest title, Valor Mortis. The project departs into the soulslike space with a first-person perspective, setting its grim adventure across a plague-ravaged European continent.

In the campaign, players step into the boots of William, an undead soldier previously serving under Napoleon. Resurrected by the same supernatural affliction sweeping the region, the protagonist utilizes death as a path toward gaining power while crossing paths with historical figures, horror tropes, and fantastical lore.

Gameplay mechanics emphasize iterative runs paired with active combat options, including parrying, dashing, and executing enemy finishers across diverse weapon types.
