Konami has published Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, representing the gothic action franchise's first mainline entry in more than ten years. Early critical evaluations have praised the new release as a successful revival of the classic vampire-slaying property.
Development duties on Belmont's Curse were handled by Evil Empire, the studio previously recognized for its extensive work supporting Dead Cells. The partnership between the companies follows an earlier crossover venture, the Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania downloadable expansion released in 2023.
The project highlights Konami's ongoing strategy of partnering with external development teams across the globe to revitalize its legacy intellectual properties, an approach the Japanese publisher has also applied to the Silent Hill series.
