Arc Raiders Player Count Surges Past 100,000 on Steam Following Frozen Trail Update

Embark Studios has launched Frozen Trail, the latest major update for its extraction shooter Arc Raiders. The new release represents the team's first major content drop since transitioning to a semi-annual development schedule back in May, an approach intended to allow more time for comprehensive additions while fostering a sustainable studio work pace.

Following the patch, the title experienced a major resurgence on Steam, climbing into the top ranks of the platform's best-selling and most-played charts. Active concurrent users surpassed 106,000, crossing the six-figure threshold for the first time since May after maintaining an average of roughly 40,000 players during September. Accompanying the core game's sales momentum, the newly introduced Frozen Trail Collector's Set cosmetic pack also charted within the platform's top ten best sellers.

To sustain this momentum, Embark plans to host a free-to-play weekend for the extraction shooter across all supported platforms. While initial launch peaks from the previous holiday period reached nearly 500,000 concurrent players, the immediate influx from this release signals a promising reception for the studio's revised live-service strategy.
