Xbox Highlights Six Games in October Indie Selects Showcase

The ID@Xbox initiative has spotlighted six independent games as part of its October Indie Selects hub, rotating weekly themed features alongside a dedicated digital storefront collection. The lineup encompasses a wide spread of genres, from high-tempo combat titles to slower, atmosphere-driven experiences.

Among the action-heavy offerings, Mortal Shell II emphasizes more aggressive combat by dropping the traditional stamina meter entirely in favor of interconnected exploration. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game brings characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra into a 2D tag-team battle framework, while Edmund McMillen's Mewgenics delivers turn-based tactical RPG systems centered on managing and breeding mutated cats.

The showcase also highlights distinct narrative and horror experiences. The Sinking City 2 shifts the detective formula toward Lovecraftian survival horror set across flooded 1929 Arkham, featuring reanimating parasitic enemies. On the calmer side of the catalog, diorama assembler Woodo provides storybook-style 3D object puzzles, and Lou's Lagoon offers seaplane exploration, crafting, and island rebuilding.
