Tilt-Controlled 2D Platformer Accelebot Launches on iOS
Solo developer Robert Perez has released Accelebot, a portrait-oriented 2D platformer for iPhone featuring tilt controls and one-handed play.
Solo developer Robert Perez has launched Accelebot on the iOS App Store. The title is a 2D platformer designed specifically for portrait-mode play, allowing users to experience the game entirely with one hand.
The control scheme foregoes traditional on-screen inputs entirely, lacking standard directional pads or dedicated jump buttons. Instead, movement is handled entirely by tilting the iPhone, while tapping anywhere on the display prompts the character to jump.
The game features expansive stages containing hidden secrets, which are tracked on the stage selection screen. Players can also pursue personal best completion times, compare their performance against developer target times, customize their character with wearable cosmetic items, and toggle audio settings through an in-level menu.
