Solo developer post-apocalyptic simulator The Walking Trade has officially launched on Xbox Series X|S. Combining micro-level retail tasks with survival combat, the title tasks players with running an outpost during an undead outbreak while directly defending their inventory from attacking hordes.

Inside the store, operators customize layouts, stock shelves, adjust pricing, and trade with arriving survivors. Beyond routine counter service, players must equip melee weapons and firearms when raids occur. Crafting stations provide options to manufacture medicines, defense traps, and tools, while hired survivors can be assigned to guard duties, customer management, or outside scavenging runs.

Player choices directly alter store reputation through community assistance or exploitative behaviors like price gouging. Originally launched on PC following an eighteen-month production cycle, the console arrival brings the full hybrid retail-defense experience to modern Xbox platforms.
