Independent developer Strange Scaffold is returning to the supernatural universe of its hit shooter with the announcement of El Paso, Elsewhere 2. The sequel is scheduled to launch next year following the breakout critical reception of the original release.
The first entry gained recognition in 2023 as an indie darling inspired by Max Payne, pitting players against vampires in a stylish neo-noir setting. Its popularity expanded beyond video games, leading to a film adaptation project announced in 2024 starring LaKeith Stanfield.
Specific platforms and gameplay features for the new sequel remain unannounced. Strange Scaffold plans to deliver the follow-up next year, capitalizing on the established fan base and expanded interest in the franchise.
