Digital Extremes is ending its invite-only testing phase for Soulframe. Starting November 6, the fantasy action RPG will transition into an open alpha, allowing anyone interested to download and try the early build without needing an invitation.

Following the public launch, the development team plans to deliver a major structural revamp dubbed Prelude 17, also known as Verse of the Veillands, scheduled for release later in the month. This patch aims to resolve early-game onboarding friction by introducing a more structured opening narrative, tasking players with restoring the corrupted lands of Midrath. Reviving these regions will dynamically alter available resources, spawn new enemies, and unlock side tasks such as fishing alongside the ability to rear a wolf pup into a rideable mount.

The upcoming overhaul will also debut a new hunter-themed Pact tied to the Ode race. This archetype equips players with abilities including a restraining bola, a spike attack, and a balloon tether capable of launching foes. In addition, faction leaders will receive expanded dialogue to help convey the setting's history as adventurers cleanse the environment.
