Leadership at Rockstar Games has indicated that the studio's next project after Grand Theft Auto 6 will not face another prolonged eight-year development window. The lengthy gap leading up to GTA 6 followed the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, but internal changes are planned to streamline upcoming work.

According to statements shared in a report by Bloomberg, co-heads of development Phil Hooker and Aaron Garbut explained that extensive foundational work carried out for GTA 6 will benefit future pipelines. The established engine, upgraded toolset, and current studio structure are expected to allow creators to build content much more quickly without rebuilding baseline systems.

While the studio has not revealed or hinted at what project will follow GTA 6, outside speculation continues to focus on potential successors such as a new Red Dead title or another entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. However, Rockstar has not announced any official plans regarding what specific game it will produce next.
