Publisher New Blood Interactive and developer Saibot Studios have officially launched Tenebris Somnia. Created alongside filmmaker and developer Andrés Borghi, the retro-style survival horror adventure is now available across Xbox Series X|S and PC, supporting Xbox Play Anywhere for shared access between platforms.

The project blends traditional pixel-art exploration with live-action cinematics recorded by a professional film team in Argentina. Players control Julia as she investigates unsettling nightmares surrounding her former partner, dealing with resource management, puzzle solving, and grotesque boss confrontations that seamlessly transition between 2D gameplay and live footage.

Production on the title spanned roughly four years and emphasized practical filmmaking techniques, including handcrafted silicon prosthetics and on-location shooting. The developers also confirmed that no generative artificial intelligence was implemented at any stage of design, art, localization, or audio production.
