P.T. Receives Native Fan-Made PC Port Translating Original Code

Programmer Lorean Xavier has released a native PC port of P.T., translating the original PS4 code to run directly on Windows and Linux without bundled game assets.

Hideo Kojima's acclaimed horror demo P.T. has been ported to PC as a native application by independent programmer Lorean Xavier. The project, titled PT-PC and shared via GitHub, avoids shipping copyrighted assets by functioning as an engine translation that requires users to supply their own dumped files from the original PlayStation 4 release.

Unlike previous attempts that rebuilt the teaser inside modern engines, this release translates the actual original codebase so that authentic assets, physics, audio, and visual behaviors run on Windows and Linux. The native architecture also introduces modern graphical adjustments and modding compatibility, moving beyond standard PS4 emulation techniques.

The developer explained that work on the native translation began in 2024 to preserve the game properly following Konami's delisting of the demo in 2015. While artificial intelligence was used to speed up debugging and testing, Xavier handled the architecture and code implementation, earning praise from community dataminers for delivering an exact translation of the original title's behavior.
