Hello Games has released Forsaken, a spooky Halloween-themed update for No Man's Sky that pushes the space exploration game into darker territory. Following updates like Cosmos and The Swarm, this fifth major release of the year introduces biomechanical starship parts, mysterious spacefarers, and salvage hunts centered around derelict hulks and infested deep-space outposts.
Explorers can now collect preserved organic matter and haulage packages across the galaxy to trade with newly arrived forsaken merchants. These salvaged mementos can be redeemed for sinister corvette components, including fresh cockpits, structural parts, and biomechanical habitats, allowing players to build eerie ships from scratch or customize their existing starships. Players can also acquire grotesque gear, such as a larva tank helmet and a larva cannon multi-tool.
Alongside the thematic additions, the Forsaken update implements several mechanical upgrades for general exploration. Star travelers can now jump seamlessly to visible stars in the sky, employ a radial menu for swapping weapons, and toggle a minimal HUD layout for a clearer view. Package delivery courier missions have also been added to expand haulage gameplay.
