Nier: Automata PC Patch Inadvertently Inflates File Size to 366GB
A recent Steam update for Nier: Automata intended to add new language options mistakenly increased the game's install footprint from 50GB to 366GB.
A fresh update for Nier: Automata on PC has led to an unexpected storage issue for players on Steam. The patch, intended to introduce additional language options, accidentally expanded the installation requirements from its normal footprint of around 50GB up to an enormous 366GB.
The update specifically introduced support for Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese text. However, the unintended side effect has left PC users facing a massive download that significantly dwarfs the original size of the action RPG.
Compounding the issue for existing players is that the Steam patch cannot be skipped. Anyone looking to run the title through the platform is required to download the massive file until the publisher rolls out a fix.
