Mew2King Barred From XFS 2026 Tournament Over Health Concerns

Professional Super Smash Bros. competitor Jason 'Mew2King' Zimmerman has been prohibited from attending and competing in the upcoming Xtreme Fighters Showdown event. The decision followed public posts from the player detailing a severe insect infestation in his residence alongside photos showing swollen skin and extensive bites.

Zimmerman had taken to social media prior to traveling to Texas, asking for advice on swollen hands and sharing images of numerous painful bumps across his leg and body. He attributed the condition to ongoing bug bites sustained over several months in his home, leading community members to raise alarms regarding the potential spread of pests during his travels.

Following the public reaction, tournament organizers issued an official statement confirming his removal from XFS 2026. Leadership cited attendee safety and well-being as the primary reason for barring Zimmerman from the premises, after which the player removed his original posts from social media without further comment.
