Newly released market data from Circana highlights a dominant commercial launch for Marvel's Wolverine in the United States. The superhero title secured the number one position in dollar sales for the month of September, ranking as the eleventh best-selling release overall for the year across all tracked platforms.
The performance marks the strongest launch-month revenue for any Sony-published video game since Helldivers 2 landed in early 2024. The exclusive release also provided a boost to PlayStation 5 console momentum, with platform hardware revenue rising 43 percent month-over-month to reach its highest revenue share since spring 2025.
Despite launching exclusively on a single system against multiple fresh competitors, the title held the top slot while ranking seventh in weekly active users on PlayStation networks. Estimates indicate approximately 1.9 million units were moved by mid-September, with boxed physical copies representing around 799,000 of that initial total.
