Magic: The Gathering to Reprint Soul Spike for the First Time in 20 Years

Wizards of the Coast is bringing back the rare black instant Soul Spike in an upcoming Secret Lair drop after two decades.

Magic: The Gathering players will soon have a fresh opportunity to acquire Soul Spike, a prominent black instant card that has gone without a reprint for two decades. The card originally debuted in 2006 as part of the Coldsnap expansion.

Over the years, the spell has climbed in secondary market value to around $18 due to its utility in competitive play combined with a prolonged lack of available printings. This scarcity has made it a sought-after piece for deckbuilders looking for its specific effects.

Publisher Wizards of the Coast is reintroducing the card through a new Secret Lair release themed around Reality Fracture. This upcoming drop marks the first official reprint for the card since its initial appearance twenty years ago.
