Publisher Jagex has deepened its relationship with indie studio Games by Malcs, officially recognizing the upcoming Melvor Idle 2 as an authorized RuneScape spinoff. While the original idle title drew inspiration from the famous fantasy MMO, the sequel will now formally incorporate the property's branding.
Although the upcoming release will carry the official association, Jagex confirmed that Melvor Idle 2 is not set within RuneScape's traditional world of Gielinor. Instead, the follow-up aims to expand upon the core idle framework while keeping the distinct spirit of the MMO that inspired its predecessor.
Players can anticipate several mechanical and visual enhancements in the new entry, notably an increased level cap reaching 120 and refreshed graphics. Furthermore, the announcement confirmed that Melvor Idle 2 will completely avoid microtransactions, maintaining a straightforward monetization approach.
