The upcoming Rot and Ruin update for Grounded 2 brings significant additions to Brookhollow Park, centered around a fresh exploration zone called the Woodpile. This environment introduces revamped Termite variants including Workers, Soldiers, the Termite King, and O.G.R.R. forms, all featuring revised combat behaviors. In addition to the insect colony, players will encounter a heavily requested encounter in the form of a Centipede boss creature.

Survival and traversal are receiving notable overhauls with the debut of the Potato Beetle Buggy mount. Designed as a close-combat companion larger than the Ladybug Buggy, the creature features a projectile spread attack, an area Healing Roar, and the utility to haul building materials directly into construction blueprints. Creative builders can also craft paints and apply colors across structures such as walls, stairs, and roofs using a new paintball launcher dubbed the Splotcher.

Progression systems will expand through the introduction of Bismuth, a raw resource harvested across the park. Players can refine this material alongside a new Yoking Press crafting station to upgrade current weapons and armor tiers. Grounded 2 is currently accessible in Game Preview and Early Access on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with the 1.0 full release planned for 2027.
