Goddess of Victory: NIKKE PC Launcher Compromised by Malicious Third Party

The PC launcher for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE was tampered with by an unauthorized third party, prompting security warnings for desktop players.

The PC client launcher for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE has been compromised after an unauthorized third party tampered with the software. Developer Shift Up and publisher Level Infinite acknowledged the security breach, stating that investigations are currently underway and corrective fixes have been deployed.

According to technical details shared regarding the incident, the vulnerability allowed an information-stealing agent to download onto users' computers. Players who launched the desktop client during the compromised window may have had sensitive personal data targeted, including credentials for Steam, Discord, web browsers, crypto wallets, and payment details.

Community investigations suggest checking the local debug log within the launcher's intl_service directory to see if the malicious agent was registered, and deleting the tbs_cache folder is recommended for those who have not launched the client recently. Players who ran the launcher during the affected timeframe are urged to run complete antivirus scans and update their account passwords while the developers prepare further updates.
