Final Fantasy XIV Evercold Delayed to Late February 2027

Square Enix has shifted the release of Final Fantasy XIV Evercold by four weeks to February 23, 2027, with early access starting on February 19.

The upcoming Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Evercold, has been pushed back from its initial January window by roughly four weeks. Announced during the FFXIV Fan Fest keynote in Japan alongside the project's opening cinematic, the expansion is now scheduled to officially launch on February 23, 2027. Players who qualify for early access will be able to log in a few days earlier beginning on February 19, 2027.

Producer and director Naoki Yoshida outlined the updated roadmap alongside version 8.0 gameplay adjustments and narrative developments. Pre-orders are slated to go live on November 4, 2026, offering early purchasers bonus in-game items tied to the expansion.

The presentation also detailed upcoming mechanical additions, showcasing a new ranged DPS Job named Zephyr that wields a crossbow and commands an avian companion. Alongside the previously known Bastion Tank Job, Evercold will introduce crossover raid series featuring Neon Genesis Evangelion and Final Fantasy VII as the MMORPG moves into its next major story cycle.

Announced release date: 23 Feb 2027
