Salmi Games has officially launched a playable PC VR demo for Drifters: Blackout Crew. The trial arrives on Steam just ahead of the upcoming Steam Next Fest event, allowing virtual reality players to sample the title's cooperative extraction mechanics.
The game is a cooperative, player-versus-environment first-person shooter set in a science fiction universe. Players team up in pairs to explore an alien world, gather necessary supplies to sustain a dying mothership, and unlock and upgrade various tools and weapons.
Prior to the demo's public arrival, the studio conducted months of playtests focused on enhancing performance, introducing new features, and reworking weapon mechanics. Drifters: Blackout Crew previously debuted during the VR Games Showcase in June, retaining the cel-shaded visual design seen in the developer's earlier project, Sweet Surrender.
