Pearl Abyss has expanded Crimson Desert Enhanced with the release of the Charting the Unknown expansion on Xbox Series X/S and PC via Xbox Play Anywhere. The downloadable content expands the adventures across Pywel with three standalone narratives focusing on Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane as they pursue separate paths following earlier conflicts.
A major addition in this release is maritime travel, allowing players to build customized vessels to navigate the Great Ocean of Pywel, dive underwater, and discover submerged ruins, treasures, and new mounts. On land, social mechanics have been deepened with relationship progression that can lead to romance and marriage, alongside a modular housing overhaul that permits ground-up house construction and the decoration of liberated castle strongholds.
Players interested in combat challenges can enter the newly added Garden of Trials, which stages consecutive boss rush encounters against adversaries met across the campaign. For newcomers on Xbox, a five-hour trial version of the base game is available through early January, providing access to the expansive open world and previously added Enhanced content updates.
Announced release date: 29 Oct 2026
