Psychological horror simulation title Corner Shop: NightShift has officially launched on Xbox Series X|S and PC, complete with Xbox Play Anywhere functionality. Published by PlayWay S.A., the first-person narrative experience explores the strain of severe personal conflict and deteriorating mental health through the lens of retail employment.
Players take on the role of Adam Callahan, a convenience store clerk working through nocturnal shifts while coping with family separation and financial distress. Daily responsibilities include restocking shelves, processing deliveries, cleaning, scanning purchases, and operating surveillance equipment, all while dealing with unsettling disruptions such as blackouts, false alarms, and erratic customers.
To accurately represent its mental health themes, the development team collaborated with psychologists and family situation specialists when writing therapy scenes and relationship dialogue. The campaign delivers roughly 15 hours of narrative gameplay across four possible endings based on player decisions, complemented by an Endless Mode dedicated to long-term store management with lingering horror events.
