Developer Pdpartid@games has released Cat-Astrophy, a fast-paced sci-fi action roguelite centered on dynamic builds and platforming. The game puts players in control of Polo, exploring procedurally generated planets while piecing together the story behind his abduction and the cataclysmic events surrounding him. It is currently available for purchase across digital storefronts for $14.99.

Expeditions in Cat-Astrophy are shaped by a modular power system. As players explore rooms containing combat, parkour segments, shops, and miniboss encounters, they discover modules that modify stats, mobility, defense, or close-range fighting. These components can evolve or combine into distinct synergies, drastically altering movement and directional attack combos while managing a fatigue meter during battles.

Failure during a run sends players back to their central hub ship, but progress is not completely lost. Collected Star Fragments can be invested into permanent upgrades that unlock new options and traversal routes for subsequent expeditions. Players can also uncover memory fragments to reveal additional narrative details about Polo's history as they experiment with different combat loadouts.
