Austin Wintory Reveals Unused Pitch Music for Next Mass Effect Project
Composer Austin Wintory has shared roughly 20 minutes of concept music he composed while in talks to score the next Mass Effect title.

Renowned composer Austin Wintory has unveiled roughly twenty minutes of concept music originally created during discussions to score the next entry in the Mass Effect series. Following the shutdown of BioWare, Wintory decided to make the experimental pitch tracks publicly available, sharing the material as an exploration of the musical direction the franchise could have explored.
The released showcase consists of seven standalone tracks alongside one remix, totaling nearly twenty minutes of audio uploaded to YouTube. According to Wintory, the suite was written in 2025 as a tribute to the foundational work done by original series composers Jack Wall and Sam Hulick, blending heavy analog synthesizers with intricate orchestral scoring reminiscent of The Matrix soundtrack.
While conversations had occurred over several years between Wintory, Electronic Arts, and BioWare concerning his involvement with the next installment, the arrangement was never finalized before the studio's closure. Because he had not been briefed on specific narrative plans at the time of writing, Wintory characterized the speculative tracks as a creative pitch illustrating his personal vision for the space opera's auditory future.
