The community modding suite for Alien: Isolation, named OpenCAGE, has officially launched its 1.0 milestone. Developed by Matt Filer over the course of nine years following earlier prototypes, the suite is now accessible directly through Steam. While previous iterations already powered various community add-ons, this new release marks a significant expansion in creative capabilities.

According to creator Matt Filer, version 1.0 elevates the suite to handle full total conversions. Modders now have the capability to create and import entirely custom maps, objectives, game modes, character models, weaponry, animations, audio, and visual assets, dramatically widening the scope of fan-made content.

To exhibit the potential of the updated toolkit, Filer is developing a custom map inspired by Halo, complete with unique cutscenes, custom user interfaces, brand-new enemies, and fresh weapons. These expanded tools provide players with extensive new content avenues as anticipation builds for a potential future sequel.
